Moon Sighting Dua
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Muhammad, instructed that when you see the new moon, you should recite a supplication (dua).
Therefore, it is important for every Muslim to recite this prescribed dua as soon as they see the new moon, so the new month begins with Allah’s mercy, blessings, and protection.
The meaning of this dua is: O Allah, let this moon appear over us with peace, faith, safety, and Islam, and grant us the ability to do the deeds You love and are pleased with.
This supplication is not only a Sunnah of moon sighting, but also a way for a believer to begin the new month with worship, gratitude, and the pleasure of Allah.

Dua for the New Moon
In Islam, every Islamic month begins with the sighting of the new moon. When the moon appears, it is not just a historical or calendar moment, but also spiritually significant.
For this reason, reciting the dua when the new moon is sighted is an important Sunnah and a source of blessings.
The same prescribed dua is recited for every new moon, as there is only one authentic supplication for moon sighting.
